Thanks, I have added it. It is deployed on our development version at
http://dev.maposmatic.org. The turkish language is now automatically
selected by default for renderings that have a geographic area in
Turkey. You can see an example at
http://dev.maposmatic.org/rendered/000586_2012-04-28_00-31_TestTurkey.png.

I have implemented this, but for the rendering above, it seems it
wasn't necessary: the appellations are always after the street name,
i.e you have :
Hünnap Sokak
Hasan Bey Sokağı
and not
Sokak Hünnap
Sokağı Hasan Bey
So the street names do not require any sort of special handling to be
properly sorted. This mechanism of appellations was needed for
languages like french or spanish where the street names almost always
look like:
Rue de la Paix
Avenida del Mar
And we want those streets to be indexed as:
Paix (Rue de la)
Mar (Avenida del)
Can you confirm that Sokak and Sokağı are always suffixes? If it's the
case, then we don't need a special handling for those appellations,
because the turkish street names would be naturally sorted.

Ok.

It's now up to you to do several renderings on dev.maposmatic.org of
various locations in Turkey, and check that the generated street index
is correct and makes sense compared to street indexes in commercial
maps.
Also, if you have some time, it would be great to have a translation of
the MapOSMatic website in turkisch.
Thanks a lot for your contribution,
Thomas
