this certainly seems to fix the problem...
I did the same in t_singlenetsync and now they both seem fine

$ ./testsuite -k netsync
## -------------------------------------------- ##
## monotone 0.14 test suite: integration tests. ##
## -------------------------------------------- ##
 22: exchanging work via netsync                  ok
 26: single manifest netsync                      ok
