(Forwarding to list for completeness, as I incorrectly replied only to NS.)

main point:
Sorry. My oversight. I overlooked the columnization, and did not see both files listed.

rambling:
I think I initially missed that somewhere else too.

Might be nice if 1)such filename output lists were consistent with all commands producing them, or 2)the columns or filenames were somehow emphasized a bit more with multiple columns, or always restricted to one column. ("monotone known" apparently does only one column, but "log" output may do more than one column?) (Maybe precede each item with a '>' or '*' if that doesn't affect the scripted mode output. Single spaces are easily overlooked, especially if one works with paths that have spaces in them. [I do try to avoid that, but sometimes have to work with others.]) (Another possibility might be to twist things around to emphasize filenames with paths secondarily, possibly like "<filename>(<path>)" or "<filename>[<path>]".)

Hrm, everything here looks fine to me... can you give more details on
what you expected to have happen, but didn't?

monotone: adding sub1/junk1.txt to working copy add set
monotone: adding sub1/junk2.txt to working copy add set
   monotone: skipping ignorable file sub1/junk2.txt~

monotone adds junk1.txt and junk2.txt, but not junk2.txt~, because
it knows its an editor backup file.

   Added files:
           sub1/junk1.txt sub1/junk2.txt

log reports that junk1.txt and junk2.txt were added, but junk2.txt~
was not, just like monotone said above.

   >monotone list known
   sub1/junk1.txt
   sub1/junk2.txt

And since they've been added, they're now known.
