One should be able to compile monotone on OpenBSD without seeing too
much trouble. I have been doing that on i386 since monotone 0.26 and
OpenBSD 3.8. So far zero segfaults or other critical problems. :)

Set environment variable CHARSET to ISO-8859-15 or similar.
For example: export CHARSET=ISO-8859-15
