[Nano-devel] Problem untarring the1.08 solaris binaries

Hi,

    I've run into a problem untarring the Solaris binaries for sparc 7 and sparc 8.

 

I'm running solaris 8 and so downloaded the binary from sunfreeware and the UK mirror and the sparc 7 binary fro sunfreeware. They all unzip but none will untar (I get a 'tar: directory checksum error' message).  I thought it could be that I needed to use GNU tar so shifted the binaries to a linux box with it installed, I even shifted if my desktop and pointed winzip at it! No dice.

 

The source downloaded and unzipped without a hitch.

 

Have other people installed the current solaris binaries without trouble or are the existing files duff?
