Follow-up Comment #10, bug #32158 (project octave):
No, I was hoping someone would try it and report whether this solved
the problem with deleting temporary files created by the help command
before I committed the change.

I applied your proposed patch and these errors disappeared.
Also there are no stray files in the root directory of the current
drive created any more.
So I'd call this problem solved.
