Follow-up Comment #14, bug #34906 (project octave): I pushed another changeset which deals with the a trailing delimeter in the ticklabel string ("abc|") (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/563f8f0a7e29). It also makes use of an option to the charMatrix constructor to get rid of a for loop. The repetition operation might take a bit more time.
