Details:
y = 1:10 ; x = 100*y;
imagesc(x, y, cos(x'*y))
produces a rectangle in the form of a line. This would be expected if 'axis
equal' is set. Setting 'axis normal' brings everything back to normal, which
should be the default (as in ML).
