Follow-up Comment #4, bug #45331 (project octave):
Can someone test the what Matlab does for
x = pi;
save foo x
gzip foo
Does the original file foo remain in the directory? The ordinary Linux
command gzip removes the original file, but I think we were trying for Matlab
compatibility in this regard.
