Follow-up Comment #2, bug #49682 (project octave): I think temporarily disable the file_has_changed slot is a good idea. Not sure what the issue is with leaving the file open in the editor just as a new file (named untitled or similar) whenever the file is externally deleted (which of course would need to be flagged as unsaved)... Would that not solve the problem? To me the issue is more in the "file has changed" behaviour.
