Just for the record --- I get the same pdf as Pantxo.

Also:

octave:4> tic; print -dpdfwrite t1.pdf; toc
Elapsed time is 22.8937 seconds.
octave:5> tic; print t1.svg; toc
Elapsed time is 0.667436 seconds.
