Follow-up Comment #15, bug #48678 (project octave): @Mike: Is it even a good idea to keep LFLAGS for backward compatibility? LFLAGS is supposed to be for lex flags. Checking my Makefile I see Makefile:2648: $(LIBTOOLFLAGS) --mode=compile $(LEX) $(AM_LFLAGS) $(LFLAGS) So far we don't seem to have had any problems, but it is terribly confusing.
