Follow-up Comment #40, bug #48519 (project octave):

I think I found the issue. The last line of the grid must use the same face
normals like the second last line.

Could you please try whether you still see the error after applying the
attached diff?

There is also an issue with how face normals are calculated if xdata or ydata
are vectors. I hope I can push a patch for this shortly.
