Follow-up Comment #11, bug #56151 (project octave): Octave is its own project. We try to make the interpreter as compatible as possible so that code developed with either platform can run. But there isn't any stated goal or desire to replicate the GUI. @eflister: You can launch octave with the --traditional option which makes a few things more Matlab compatible. That might help with transitioning. @Torsten: Do the arrow keys work for you *after* you edited a command? I had to use Ctrl+p, Ctrl+n at that point.
