Follow-up Comment #49, bug #49718 (project octave):

There is this piece of code at around line 885 in print.m (function epstool)
that selects ghostscript effectively for Windows (dos_shell). It is also where
the temporary file (filein) is appended again to the ghostscript command.

      endif
    endif
