Follow-up Comment #44, bug #49718 (project octave): I took the liberty to use Pantxo's patch and try it on a recent dev (1c13a0f36160). The hunk that changed popen on Windows led to problems. So I reverted it and added the quotes in the pipeline instead. Some paths were quoted twice. That doesn't seem to work. Also some strings were used more than once as the format argument for sprintf. That lead to problems with "\" as the file separator. After fixing those, almost all output formats in Pantxo's test print fine when Octave is installed in a path with spaces and parenthesis. The only ones failing are "eps" and "epsc". An updated patch and the diary are attached. Fwiw: "eps" and "epsc" didn't print for me before the changes either.
