Follow-up Comment #9, bug #57635 (project octave):

I can second this problem.

A simple way to reproduce it is as follows:
1) create a new script file or open an existing one,
2) create a new script file or open another existing one,
3) close the second file, the first script is now visible again,
4) try to set the cursor somewhere in the code with the mouse.

Step 4 is impossible now. Using the arrow keys to navigate does not work
either.

Interestingly, it is possible to use the mouse to highlight text through
dragging while holding the left mouse button or through doubleclicking.

Some technical information:

I have Octave 5.2.0 installed, using
https://ftpmirror.gnu.org/octave/windows/octave-5.2.0_1-w64-installer.exe. The
computer is a laptop that has Windows 7 as operating system. The editor is on
the first screen and docked within the Octave window. I open the script files
by doubleclicking on the filenames in the File Brower window.
