Follow-up Comment #17, bug #59416 (project octave):

I second request by Hg200 to test with a more modern version of Matlab. 
Matlab has been known to have incorrect documentation, and thus it can't be
fully trusted.  The only true reference for how Matlab behaves is to actually
run code on its interpreter.
