Follow-up Comment #4, bug #59683 (project octave): Thank you for providing the ini-file. With this ini file, octave starts without problems on Linux and Windows 7 for me. Consequently, I think the issues you are seeing are not related to a possibly messed up ini file. I am not sure if I understand your comment #2 correctly.
