Follow-up Comment #4, bug #59938 (project octave): Following the backtrace, things appear correct at #5, oct-pars.yy:4963. At that point, input="what\nwhos\n\nls" which is what one would expect. I think things might start to go sideways at #3, oct-parse.yy:398.
