Follow-up Comment #6, bug #60276 (project octave):

If you select "Right" for "Position" and check "Rotate tabs" in the editor
settings you should see the tabs right from the edit area but horizontally
arranged, i.e. like a list of tabs (as shown in comment #1 but the list is at
the right).
