Follow-up Comment #42, bug #55908 (project octave):
I tried on an old i7-2600 computer with built-in intel graphics.
With hardware driver 0.3sec; with software 0.13sec.
Running octave remotely (on a fast local subnet) on the same computer I got 7
seconds.
