Follow-up Comment #26, bug #60882 (project octave): Definitely this should go in the NEWS file for Octave 7. And documentation should be updated to strongly recommend cuddling postfix operators (--, ++) with their variable for clarity. For testing, I do think it will simply come down to loading a package and running regression tests.
