This issue is still open for me...
I'm using Octave 6.2 on Windows 10 64 bit (but the behavior was present also
in the previous releases).
Mainly the command window starts correctly and keeps the same up to the
freezing of the PC or the redirection to a different display (display 1-2
switch).
I think that the problem happens more frequently when a PC is frozen when
connected to screen 1 and unfrozen after being connected to screen 2 (or to
both).
The editor also has a problem of alignment in this case, but it is easily
solved by a mouse scroll to impose a font scaling and a sort of 'refresh' of
the window parameters.
The same operation on the command window is not possible, event modifying the
font by acting on system parameters.
The only action for restoring the command window is to restart octave.
Maybe it would be useful a command to refresh the GUI (recomputing
screen-dependent parameters) without losing the back-end.
