Follow-up Comment #25, bug #61812 (project octave): I'd like to push the attached patch to the stable branch. It checks for compiler options that enable GNU extensions and prefers them over not using GNU extensions. Is that the right thing? Do we even support compiling without GNU extensions? Should we fail early on during configure if they aren't available?
