Follow-up Comment #12, bug #61994 (project octave):

I pushed one more change.  After this one, the workspace model should be
cleared just before the event manager is disabled.  The idea is for the GUI to
not be holding any references to interpreter objects after the interpreter
exits.  There may still be some ways to screw things up and cause a crash on
exit.  See the comments in the patch for some possible issues and solutions we
might try in the future.
