Follow-up Comment #17, bug #61994 (project octave):

I havent seen a crash in windows since the changes, however  have seen an
occasional crash in linux.

Previous to changes, in linux, on existing after creating the audioplayer it
would crash consistently. Now it only happens sometimes.
