Follow-up Comment #12, bug #62316 (project octave):

Thanks you for your very valuable hints. I looked around the dependencies, and
found that SuiteSparse was linking to libomp. 

That hopefully explains the references to openmp in Makefile. 
I will dig around a little and post an update.
