Follow-up Comment #16, bug #63700 (project octave):

I notice the jupyter-notebook crash occurs on w32 and w64 versions, but IIRC
we made the opengl switcher after determining the w32 version might need a
switch to the system driver to avoid frequent graphics crashes (mine could not
get through 'demo light' or the test suite without crashing to desktop for w32
8.0.90). Recommending they switch to software driver to get through this test
conflicts with that initial reasoning. Maybe we shouldn't make this rec. for
w32 users?  (or, as Markus said elsewhere, maybe it's time to give up on
w32...)
