Follow-up Comment #72, bug #66882 (group octave):

It looks like makeing specialization functions "static" triggered the
warnings. 

So, I just also realized that mixed type (comlex * real) are redundant and can
be removed as well since the templated version does pretty much the same. 

(file das_conv_WIP3.diff)
The same as WIP_2, but with some redundancies removed.
Still no style changes per JWE request.
