We are doing something; there's a gui branch in Savannah. I'm just
pointing that out because the GUI seems so useless to some of us, but
seems like something that is very very wanted, and we have some hard
data showing this. Considering how Debian users are more technically
inclined, the GUI desirability here is probably comparatively
underreported.
I'm feeling very hopeful that we'll have someone work fulltime on the
GUI this summer, possibly Jacob himself.
