John,
You're referring to the changeset below, correct?

Are you implying that this changeset might be backed out, allowing the gui to
be built with qscintilla 2.4.x? I'm ok either way, but if 2.4.x will suffice
then I'll avoid the effort of working on a qscintilla 2.6.x port for macports.
