(I haven't been following this thread but I got curious.)
On [here](http://invisible-island.net/cdk/) I see:
"It does not handle "wide" characters, i.e., Unicode."
Just something to watch out for! (Although maybe ncurses directly has
similar issues, I have no experience with either).
