Follow-up Comment #14, patch #10288 (project octave):

sorry let this sit.  will take a look at it. It's a fairly isolated function
add without much impact elsewhere. It might be able to be added for v8.1, but
will await other consensus for that. in either case are you set up to be able
to put a patch together to add the function plus other necessary changes to
the octave source?
