It should be no problem cascading more 4017, but you'll soon hit a
limit in term of refresh rate ( 2ms * 10 = 20ms is 50hz).
What about using a twog as a slave servo driver and connect it to your
autopilot via I2C ?
I have made a servo driver board last year for that kind of
applications ( http://poinix.org/images/csc_1_0.jpg ) where servos are
located far from the autopilot. A nice way to connect it to the
autopilot is using CAN bus rater than I2C. I am making a new version
of this servo driver board based on a stm32 and it should be ready
