this is usually done by the file extension. So what should I register?

"text/csv"
"text/tab-separated-values"
( I've never encountered this last one, but it's listed here:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/text/tab-separated-values )
In the not too distant future, I'm hoping to extend this gui to also import
the following mime types, so you might want to deal with these too:
"application/x-gnumeric"
"application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet"
Why? This would only be a problem if those packages associate the extension ".csv"
When registering something with the .csv files, I may get problems with
office packages also registering *.csv files.
with something other than "text/csv"

On my MSWindows test environment, only .txt files are correct filtered in
the import box.
