I would like to ask if there is a way to change cpu vendor id for a kvm enabled guest. The background is that we are trying out Hygon CPU (which seems similar to amd cpu). The issue is that windows 2008 cannot boot. After some research, my colleague is suspecting that maybe windows 2008 only recognizes certain vendors (like Intel and amd).
So my question is if it is possible to change vendor id to intel ? Thank you very much for the help.
