If you're considering bsd, openbsd is the choice you should make. ;)

Does anyone on the list use a redhat system? I don't, and there's a reason for 
that.

Is rpm creation really something that should be done before it comes naturally? 
If someone here is willing to make one, fine. But otherwise let's aim some 
power at feature and bug-fixing until someone steps forward and says: "I'll 
make that redhat package now, thank you".
