so you switch between this window and others in X with ratpoison?  and
its better to have it in the upper left?  I would think that (assuming
xmms is a mouse driven program) in general the mouse cursor would be
closer to the controls when the window is in the center of the screen
(on average).  what i mean is, when you switch to the xmms app from
wherever you were, its less effort to move the mouse cursor to the
xmms widget you want to fiddle with if xmms pops up in the middle of
the screen rather than the upper left.

I definitly think we should not make ratpoison look nice at the
expense of increasing rodent usage.

<rant> hell, what is it with all these crappy window managers trying
to *look* nice?  I suppose we are in the age of the wanky screenshot.
I guess I dont live in the real world though, I use GNU Emacs for damn
near everything. </rant>
