A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Igor Izyumin Jr. <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Virtual Debate
System name: vdebate
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

VirtualDebate is a project to create the software for a website where users can
get into a formal debate with each other and deeply analyze a question. Users
will be able to register, login, choose a question to debate, and post their
position on the question. Other users will see the question, disagree with the
challenger\'s premise, and post their reply. At that point, the two users will
be engaged in the debate formally, and will have to prove their point with
facts and research. Each user will have a specified amount of time to
produce a response in; when they no longer post a legitimate response, they
lose. This format is designed to solve problems with web forums, and other
similar things by eliminating emotions from the picture. Therefore, it will
lead to productive debate.
The software is going to be written in the PHP scripting language
(http://www.php.net). When finished, it will be used to power
http://www.virtualdebate.org (not up yet), and also made available as free
software for anybody else to use and adapt (under the GNU General Public
License).

The software does not exist yet, but will be worked on by me and a few other
volunteers.
