From: djm
Subject: [Savannah-hackers] savannah.gnu.org: submission of fnkdat
Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2002 06:40:30 -0500

A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

David MacCormack <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: lgpl
Other License:
Package: fnkdat
System name: fnkdat
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

Platforms manage the location of support files differently. For example, a
win32 game might be stored in C:\\Program Files\\MyGame and may store it\'s
sound effects in C:\\Program Files\\MyGame\\sounds. However, the binary for
the same game on linux may be stored in /usr/bin while its sound effects may be
in /usr/share/mygame/sounds. libfnkdat provides a single interface for
determining directory and file locations.

It already exists and you can see it at
http://www.maccormack.net/~djm/libfnkdat/
