        Hi,

I'm glad this study is conducted with visible information on the
web. It was much less obvious with the last study Unisys conducted for the
IDA. Things progress it seems ;-)

Regarding Savannah I'm unclear if you're interested by the software
itself or the service provided by savannah.gnu.org. Could you clarify this
please ?

The main difference with SourceForge.net, and the primary
reason for creating Savannah is to offer a development hosting facility
to Free Software developers. SourceForge provides a facility to Open Source
developers which is substantially different. In Free Software ethics and
philosophy come before convenience and technical advantages. It is
exactly the opposite with Open Source. Free Software won't jeopardize
freedom because it creates practical problems. Better live free and
poor than rich in a jail ;-)

That distinction is important and I'd appreciate if you could
distinguish between the two movements (Free Software and Open Source) in
the study.

        Cheers,
