A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Julien Cuvillier <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Projet Noeud de Calcul
System name: pnc
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

The project aims at sharing computing power to accomplish big tasks.
It is coded with Java language, using Jini technology and Javaspaces.
For the moment, we are able to run a federation of workers on different
machines and the master can put tasks and collect results after execution by
the workers. We coded an example application which create animation of diving
in fractals. We also have a controler application to monitor activity of
workers (get the percentage of task accomplishment by worker, get the XML log
of each worker ...), explore the content of the javaspaces....
The project runs prety good and the amount of code is about 4000 to 5000 lines.
You can have a look at http://s-java.ift.ulaval.ca/~pnc/ (in French sorry).
This is a project supported by the computer sciences departement of the
university of Laval (Quebec, Canada). It was primary designed for running on a
Linux OS but we are about to make it win32 compliant for an extended use of
workers.
As we are students until May, we need a host providing web site and CVS to
continue supporting the project.

Thanks

Julien Cuvillier
