In general we don't give out shell accounts to the GNU project management
servers, this is considered to be a security risk.
If you are a GNU maintainer it's possible that you could get one. You should
contact the GNU accounts team.
It would be better to try and solve your problem with CVS: can you tell us more
about it?

Hello,
I have seen 'shell accounts' mentioned on the CVS page.
How can I apply for a shell account? I'd need it to use
CVS; there are some problems, which prevent me from
using CVS from the 'outside'.
Regards
Markus
