A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Gijsbert Stoet <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: emarks
System name: emarks
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

Description:
Project: Emarks
My program installs an online bookmark server on a linux/GNU/unix platform.

The aim is that you can save and manage your bookmarks from any internet
browser. You connect to your server running the emarks cgi-scripts and you can
save and manage your online bookmarks.

Some of these online bookmark servers already exist, but the projects are often
extremely problematic to install and run on the web-clients.

Emarks however is a very simple cgi-bin script written in bash and awk. It is
easy to install and easy to use. It comes with documentation for how to intall
and use.
The advantages are that you can install it such that many users can save and
manage their bookmarks on one server. New users can sign themselves up,
although this option might be disabled by the administrator. Signups can be set
to specific IPs. So for example, a system administrator can make sure that only
certain people can sign up for the online bookmarks.

It already exists and you can download the latest distribution at

ftp://eye-hand.wust.edu/pub/emarks.tar.gz

Other Software Required:
bash (verion 2)
awk
