  The mldonkey project on Savannah is now officially free. The edonkey
plugin, seen by some users as non-free, has been removed from the CVS,
and moved to another site. This plugin is not required to use
mldonkey, which can still connect, in its completely free form, to
several other p2p networks.

  I don't think this change will benefit a lot to the free-software
community, but just make the task of developping and porting mldonkey
a bit more complicated. The edonkey plugin was not "proprietary", but
just "protected" against malicious users.
