Hilko Bengen <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: ULOG-based network accounting for Linux
System name: ulog-acctd
Type: GNU

Description:
Ulog-Acctd is a heavily hacked version of the net-acct package which accounts
IP traffic on GNU/Linux and Solaris systems.

Net-Acct is a user-space daemon which generates log files of network traffic
for accounting purposes.

ulog-acctd is integrated into Linux 2.4 netfilter. It was written for a small
ISP to be able to integrate GNU/Linux routers into an existing CISCO accounting
infrastrure.

Improvements over net-acct include lower CPU overhead (meaning fewer packets
lost) under high network load and cleaner configuration. Selection which
packets are counted is done in kernel-space with iptables rules.

It does not exist yet but I\'m working on it.

Other Software Required:
Linux 2.4 kernel with the netfilter ULOG target compiled in

Other Comments:
Development is being sponsored by toplink-plannet GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany.
