Scott Fraser <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: PyCroft: Webservice in a python GUI
System name: pycroft
Type: non-GNU

Description:
The program is a web services application that takes inspiration from watson
(http://www.karelia.com) for Mac OS X.

It is written in python and wxPython (for the GUI). Source code has been
emailed to a Savannah administrator

It is essentailly a series of small web applications bound together into the
one convenient GUI. Currently functional are Google search, Amazon.com search,
Meerkat news search (,http://www.oreillynet.com/meerkat/) currency exchange
conversion and stock-quote lookup. Babelfish translation will be added shortly.

The program itself makes use of the Google and Amazon web APIs, the Meerkat
xml-rpc feed and SOAP methods at http://www.xmethods.net to fetch the search
results itself. Hence the only dependencies that the program needs are
external web feeds. The google and amazon.com searches require a free
registration where your email address is required and all potential users would
need to register to use it.

Other Software Required:
