Matthew Kennedy <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: El-Gyach -- an Emacs Lisp interface to Y
System name: elgyach
Type: non-GNU

Description:
El-Gyach

URL: http://cvs.gentoo.org/~mkennedy/emacs/gyach/

El-Gyach is an Emacs Lisp interface to gyach-text. Gyach-text is a
simple standard input/output-based interface (written in C) to Yahoo chat
rooms. The gyach-text code in El-Gyach is a fork of the original gyach-text
code which was part of Gyach (a GTK Yahoo Chat interface licensed under the
GPL). I coded the forked parts gyach-text, and the entire emacs lisp interface
to it. The original gyach-text code is at:

http://www4.infi.net/~cpinkham/gyach/ and
http://www4.infi.net/~cpinkham/gyach/beta/.

The original code was by Chris Pinkham.

It has no dependencies other than the standard C runtime and gcc compiler. As
it appears now, there is also some Berkely DB code in there, but it is
non-functional and is scheduled to be removed (I\'m recoding as much as
possible back into emacs lisp).

Here\'s a screenie:

I use this code all the time personally, but i have some friends who use it too
and it would be great to host it here to help them get easier access to the
code (in a rw sense too!)

Other Software Required:
no dependencies other than GCC and the libc and GNU Emacs
