The error message on the commit is gone now, but the webpage
is still in its old state. If I remember correctly, the
intervall was just a few seconds or minutes, since its now a
few hours since the commit, something seems still wrong.

There is a interval between it.  Let us wait... 
 
Can you retry a commit and see if you get the error again?
